Untwist MINI Packaging
Sustainable Packaging Design. Design Goal: Produce extremely low-cost domestically-manufactured packaging solution. Zero plastic. Eco friendly. Use the absolute least amount of paper possible. No "hang tags" with string. Solution: Use a standard business card with two holes punched in it. Time to market: 3 weeks from concept to delivered packaging.
Untwist Premium Packaging and Stand
I wanted to create a Premium Packaging design that was based on an "untwisting cylinder". The stand is designed to showcase the Untwist and conform to the profile of the toy. The top of the cylindrical packaging unscrews, or rather "untwists", from the bottom.
Untwist Toy Logo Exploration
A few selected pages outlining my process of exploring the Untwist Toy logo.
Untwist Toy Stand
Premium Desk Stand for the Untwist Toy. What was originally supposed to be a jig to help align the toy for laser engraving quickly turned into a Premium Desk Stand. The original idea was to laser engrave a small serial number on the inner handle chamfer of each finished Untwist. In order to do that the toy needed to be placed in a jig at an angle so that it could fit under the laser head, and so that the chamfer was level. After 3D printing the jig, it was apparent that it was better used as a desk stand. One production idea for this is to make it out of recycled molded paper pulp.

Live Animation
Challenge: Create a system that can produce hours of animated content in real time via a puppeteer user interface. Solution: Build a "Video Game for Puppeteers" that incorporated a library of triggered animations with a live lip-sync engine.
Time Square Signage: MSDW Lehman - Systems Integration
Many years ago I was hired to glue together Morgan Stanley Dean Witter's new flagship signage infrastructure in Time Square. This was a truly amazing project, and I was responsible for architecting and building a realtime animation system with a 3-pipe SGI Onyx before anyone else was doing anything with Real Time graphics or animation in Time Square. We built a Ferrari, but after 9/11 we got to drive it around the block once. Shortly after, the building was sold to Lehman Brothers, and the project ended. The building is now owned by Barkley's.
G.O.G.P. - Great Ocean Garbage Patch iOS Game
The Great Ocean Garbage Patch GOGP is (was) an iOS and Android game that brings awareness of the environmental damage caused by the massive amounts of ocean garbage. The game engages the user to clean up garbage by sorting a constant stream of ocean garbage items into the proper bins. I learned something incredibly valuable about the gaming industry with this App. I spent $4 making the game, and $1 marketing it. I had this business model completely backwards. I should have spent $1 making the game, and $4 marketing it.
Hudzee Videos
Below is a selection of videos and commercials that I produced to promote the Hudzee Hard Drive Case. The production, editing, VFX, and sound design was done by a huge team of awesome and creative people. It was an honor for me to collaborate with everyone on this. These spots were a lot of fun to make, yet were a marketing failure. The divided opinions of firearms in the USA, and the poor timing of their release, let to no financial benefit from the campaign . (My father would always tell me that, "It's ok to fail, just make sure you learn from those mistakes and don't make them again.") The good news is that we got to use a Phantom high speed camera and semi-automatic firearms.
